First put in the grade you have, then enter the grade you want (on a scale from 0-100) and then enter the weight of the final.
Then the calculator will determine the grade required on the final to give you the grade you want.
How does this calculator work?
This calculator uses the following equation:
((Desired grade/100) – (Current grade/100)*(1-weight of final/100))/(weight of final/100)*100
So for example, lets say you have an 85 in the class, want a 85 in the class and the final weighs 25 percent. This would lead to the following equation:
((85/100) – (80/100)*(1-25/100))/(25/100)*100 ~ 100
This means that you would need to score 100 on the final to get an 85 in the class.
